One of the techniques we use to confirm business requirements is to cross-validate the requirements across multiple functional areas, adding resources from different departments to the meetings until we reach a consensus on what the actual requirement is. This also encourages teamwork and promotes buy-in.
On one very detailed project we used stress balls as a fun way to contain the scope. Participants would throw the ball whenever there was a proposed scope change. It ended up that people would not start the meeting without our “scope balls.” It was a fun way to reduce stress while helping us facilitate meetings.
Our client needed to upgrade their very old, unsupported version of Oracle’s e-Business Suite and integrate with SAP. We developed a project plan and roadmap for the technical implementation of a new R12 e-Business Suite instance along with an integration policy for R12 and SAP.
One of our clients has grown from a $1.7 Billion to $6.8 Billion company over the past seven years, primarily through acquisitions. As their preferred Oracle consulting partner, we have been helping them standardize on Oracle applications and integrate systems as they continue their rapid growth. We moved various single-node production databases to a Real Application Cluster (RAC) setup that provided High Availability (HA) via multi-node clusters. This involved re-architecting applications and providing enhanced security models and backup and recovery procedures.
