Rapid Cloud Implementations – What’s the Catch?

We’ve heard both software vendors and implementation partners tout rapid cloud transitions–some in as little as 4-6 months. Is this achievable? Yes, but here’s the catch:

1. This timeframe doesn’t include environment assessments, requirements gathering, planning, or preparation. Estimated time: 3-5 months.

2. This timeframe assumes you’re transitioning your current environment directly to the cloud, without ANY process improvements, so what’s the point?

3. This timeframe fails to factor in rollout of complete functionality and access throughout the organization. Estimated time: 3-18 months.

If you want to improve your business processes and take full advantage of how the cloud can give you a competitive advantage, a rapid implementation is probably not your best choice.
