OOW Booth 101: Where On-Premise Meets Cloud
Few consultancies know how to integrate on-premise and cloud environments like Avout. In fact, we wrote the book on it. Avout’s Chris Ostrowski is the author of Oracle Fusions Applications Migration, published by Oracle Press. Visit us at booth 101 at Oracle OpenWorld to find out how you can keep all of your systems working cohesively as you gradually migrate to the cloud. While you’re at it, enter to win a 40″ Vizio Smart TV!

Life After Oracle OpenWorld
It’s true, OOW is the biggest show of the year, and we have gone to great lengths to prep for an amazing turnout—but we’re not letting any grass grow under our feet once it’s finished. Just six days later, on October 8th, we are sponsoring a COUG breakfast featuring Oracle ACE and author Tom Kyte; at the beginning of November we will be at booth #5 at ECOUG; and in mid-November we will be speaking at two CSOAUG meetings. Take a look at the What’s Going On Section on the right for dates and registration information.
More Than Just Business
Avout Joined Bicycles for Humanity for their Annual Fundraising Gala
Avout (and Avout Racing!) turned out for the Bicycles for Humanity 7th Annual Gala on September 12th at the Parkside Mansion in Denver. It was a huge success, raising more than $8,000 from the silent auction alone. Plus, B4H and Avout gained some multi-national exposure through our partner, 1% for the Planet.
Avout Named Colorado Mountain Club Partner of the Month
Avout donates annually to Colorado Mountain Club (CMC), and Avout’s Chief Giving Officer, Jake Wiebe, has been actively involved in launching Alpine Start, a program that focuses on bringing 18- to 25-year-olds together for fun and challenging activities that develop their outdoor and leadership skills. CMC featured Avout as its Partner of the Month in its August issue of The Rucksack and its quarterly publication of Trails & Timberline.
Doing good feels good! If you’re interested in joining this global movement for sustainability, look for 1% for the Planet’s reps at Avout’s OOW Happy Hour.
Avout Racing Posts Another Kick… Season
Avout Racing met its 2014 season goals and then some, and the racers had a really great time along the way. We clinched:
- 1st and 4th places in the Epic Singletrack Team Series
- 1st place in the Rocky Mountain Endurance Team Series
- 1st place finish Men’s Super D National Championships
- 2 Big Buckles and 2 sub-12-hour buckles at the Leadville 100 MTB
- 19 individual series podiums
- 105 individual race podiums across MTB, CX, Enduro, and road
…and we’re not done yet! Cyclo-cross season has just begun, and the racers are already getting down and dirty! Read the latest Avout Racing newsletter for more details, and visit www.avoutracing.com to keep up.
A huge Thank You to the sponsors who made it possible.

The Technology
Navigating the Complexities of Oracle Licensing
By Lisa Wright
Oracle Corporation delivers world-class, best-of-breed technology—but it’s difficult to sort through licensing requirements and support costs to determine your total cost of ownership.
Keeping up with practices and requirements is time consuming and almost mystically complex. Avout’s new whitepaper outlines how Oracle handles licensing, what needs to be licensed, the circumstances under which licensing may change, and how to avoid shortfalls.
